He started his flute studying with Kim Ribeiro and improved his technique with Copinha in Rio de Janeiro and Odette Ernest Dias in BrasŪlia city

He took the Degree in Music (flute), in the College of Music of Federal University - UFRJ in Rio de Janeiro City

In the year of 2001 he took his Degree in Music at the Brazilian Conservatory of Music in Rio de Janeiro City

He studied Harmony with Ian Guest founder of CIGAM - Center of Musical Improvement - Rio de Janeiro. EstÍv„o would soon become not only his pupil but during 12 years and a half, taught Harmony, Flute and Saxophone in his school

He worked with Almir Chediak, copying out music for the Songbooks "Bossa Nova" and Caetano Veloso

He participated in the project of "Brazilian Music Big Book" ( "Livr„o da Mķsica Brasileira ") produced by Toninho Horta

He worked 3 years as a musician of the Educational TV in Rio de Janeiro

He studied saxophone with Nivaldo Ornelas Recently he invented "TEDEM" - DIDACTIC KEYBOARD FOR MUSIC TEACHING - where he developed a new teaching method based on the visualization through the keyboard, giving emphasis to the musical perception in the learning and understanding of the musical structures. The project is approved by UFJF - Federal University of Juiz de Fora and CRITT - Regional Center of Innovation and Transference of Technology.

In 1984 he was soloist in the recording work "Flute in Choro" ( "Flauta no Choro" ). In January of 1999 he released his CD - "Flauta Brasileira (Brazilian Flute)", with introduction and text of the composer Jo„o Bosco. Both works were recorded at CID.

At the beginning of 2001, Estev„o Teixeira was awarded by the "Cultural Municipal Law of Sponsorship; ( Lei Murilo Mendes - Juiz de Fora )", in the project "CD - EST V√O TEIXEIRA - 25.YEARS CARRIER CELEBRATION" ( CD - EstÍv„o Teixeira 25 Anos De Flauta - Bodas de Flauta )

The musical pieces making up this work, reflects the strength of his talent that springs all over his own compositions, sets and interpretations.

In September 2002, EstÍv„o Teixeira and the carioca Group "Rabo de largatixa" represented Brazil in the World Music Festival in Chicago, besides other important recitals at Kennedy Center in Washington, Jazz Standard in New York, and other presentations in the City of South Bend, where Notre Dame University is located and the invitation for that trip came from.
